Hanin Elias
Hanin Elias (born May 31, 1972) is a Syrian‑German musician who makes industrial and techno music. She helped start the Berlin band Atari Teenage Riot, which mixed punk, techno and metal into a style called digital hardcore. After ATR slowed down around 2000 and Carl Crack died, the band broke up and Elias started her own label, Fatal Recordings, in Berlin. She released solo music and worked with many artists, and Fatal released acts like The Vanishing and Kunst. In 2005 she joined the industrial group Pigface for a US tour. Fatal Recordings closed in 2006, and Elias took a break from music, moving to French Polynesia. She came back to Berlin in 2010 and released Get It Back in 2011 on Rustblade. She also released It All Makes Sense in 2014 under the name Fantome with Marcel Zürcher, and in 2016 collaborated with Electrosexual on Hold Me and Automatic People. Her name is mentioned in Le Tigre’s song Hot Topic.
