Gyldenpalm (noble family)
Gyldenpalm was a Danish-Norwegian noble family. It started with Hans Eilersen Hagerup (1717–1781), born in Kalundborg, Denmark, and died in Kristiansand, Norway. He was the son of Eiler Hansen Hagerup, a bishop, and Anna Catharina Barhow. After a long career as an official, he became General Commissioner of War in Nordland in 1761, which gave him personal noble status (office nobility). Four days after his death, on 23 February 1781, he was ennobled as Gyldenpalm (Golden Palm). This also made his children and grandchildren nobles. His son Eiler Hagerup Gyldenpalm (1740–1817) was the first to use the Gyldenpalm surname. His grandson Hans Hagerup Gyldenpalm (1774–1827) was a theologian and nobleman. The family line ended patrilineally with the death of his grandson, diplomat Andreas Dedekam Hagerup Gyldenpalm (1777–1832).
