Gwynne Geyer (born August 13, 1956) is an American operatic soprano and voice teacher. She grew up in Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Boyertown Area High School in 1974, where she played Maria in The Sound of Music. She studied voice at Indiana University with Eileen Farrell and earned a Master of Music.

She made her professional opera debut in 1979 as Xenia in a concert version of Boris Godunov with the St. Louis Symphony, while still a graduate student. She had earlier made her concert debut with the same orchestra in 1977 as the soprano soloist in Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy.

Geyer has sung leading roles at many of the world’s great opera houses, including La Scala, the Metropolitan Opera, and the Vienna State Opera. Notable appearances include Nedda in Pagliacci at New York City Opera in 1992; the title role of Ariadne auf Naxos at Spoleto Festival USA; and Madame Lidoine in Dialogues des Carmelites at NYC Opera in 2004–05. She made her La Scala debut in 2004 as Madame Lidoine under Riccardo Muti.

Her repertoire covers a wide range. She has performed Musetta in La Bohème at the Met, Jenufa in Venice and Paris, and Rusalka in Seattle and at the Paris Opéra Bastille. She has also sung the title role in Jenufa at the Netherlands Opera, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus at the Met, Marguerite in Faust, Eva in Die Meistersinger, and Marenka in The Bartered Bride, among others.

Geyer has appeared in concert and on recordings with major orchestras around the world. She is currently Artist in Residence and Teaching Professor of Music at Franklin & Marshall College.
