Robert Edward Hacking (30 March 1918 – 29 March 2001) was an English professional footballer who played mainly as an inside forward or wing half. He was born in Blackburn, Lancashire, and attended Blackburn Technical School. During World War II he served in the Royal Air Force and played for the RAF team, as well as appearing for Blackburn Rovers and Luton Town.

He made his Football League debut with Luton Town in the first postwar season. In August 1947 he moved to Brighton & Hove Albion for £500, and played regularly early in the season before losing his place under manager Don Welsh. In August 1948 he joined Southport, where he spent six seasons and played 181 league games, scoring six goals. He finished his playing career in non-league football with Lancaster City and later became a market gardener.

Hacking died in Hesketh Bank, England, on 29 March 2001, aged 82.
