The Goya Award for Best Fictional Short Film is Spain’s main national film award for the best Spanish fictional short film. It is presented by the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain (AACCE). The current holder (2024) is La gran obra.
Originating from 1989 to 1991 as Best Short Film (Mejor cortometraje), the award has been given its current name for fictional short films since 1992.
Several titles linked to this category have earned international recognition:
- Academy Award nominations: Esposados (1996), That Wasn't Me (2012), Timecode (2016), and Mother (2017) for Best Live Action Short Film.
- European Film Awards: The Runner (2015) and Suc de Síndria (2019) were nominated for Best Short Film, with Timecode (2016) winning the award.
