Golden Bisquits is the sixth album (fifth studio album) by American rock band Three Dog Night, released in 1971. It’s a compilation of hits from the band’s first four studio albums and includes all nine single A-sides released to date. The album came out at the same time as the band’s tenth single, Joy to the World, from Naturally (1970); Joy to the World later reached number 1 in early 1971. The three songs on Golden Bisquits that were not issued as single A-sides are Don’t Make Promises, Woman, and Your Song. According to Chuck Negron’s autobiography, the band originally suggested the title Dog Style, but it was deemed too risqué; Golden Bisquits was chosen as a dog-themed alternative. Some editions feature alternative cover art, using a cropped version of the cover photo from It Ain’t Easy. The album was produced by Gabriel Mekler and Richard Podolor, recorded from 1968 to 1970 at American Recording Co. in Studio City, California, and released on Dunhill. It runs 39 minutes and 8 seconds and is categorized as pop rock.
