Gold Mountain (Washington)
Gold Mountain is a 1,761-foot peak in the Blue Hills on the Kitsap Peninsula in Washington. It’s the highest point on the Kitsap Peninsula and the highest point in Kitsap County. Green Mountain nearby is the second highest at 1,639 feet.
The mountain sits on a mix of land: private property, the City of Bremerton watershed (not open to the public), and the Green Mountain State Forest, which is open to hikers, horses, and off-road vehicles. Most of the eastern side belongs to the city watershed, with the Union River reservoir at the base. The summit lies in a small corner of the state forest.
About six miles west of downtown Bremerton, the summit hosts an antenna farm used for local emergency services and Seattle stations, including KCPQ (Fox 13), KTBW, and KYFQ. Since 1981, the Western Washington Repeater Association has operated the WW7RA amateur radio repeater at the site, serving the Puget Sound region. A GPS reference station is also located at the KTBW site on the summit.
