Geinitzia (insect)
Geinitzia is an extinct genus of flying insects. It belongs to the order Reculida and the family Geinitziidae. The genus lived from the Permian to the Jurassic period, about 272.5 to 155.7 million years ago. Fossils have been found in China, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Russia. Several species have been described within Geinitzia. A synonym for Geinitzia is Ominea (described by Fujiyama in 1973).
