Ginataang mais, also known as mais sa gata or lugaw na mais (lelut mais in Kapampangan), is a Filipino dessert. It is a sweet corn and rice gruel cooked in coconut milk. It is a type of dessert lugaw and ginataan and is eaten warm or cold.

How it’s made: boil glutinous rice until it’s almost tender, then add sweet corn, coconut milk, and sugar and simmer until the rice is fully cooked. Some recipes add the coconut milk after cooking. Evaporated milk can be used instead of coconut milk.

Optional ingredients you might see include latik, pinipig, jackfruit, fresh grated coconut, butter, and vanilla.
