The Giant's Causeway Stakes is a Grade II turf race for fillies and mares aged three and older, held at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky. It’s run every April over 5 1/2 furlongs on a left-handed track. The current purse is $350,000.

Weight and qualification: 4-year-olds and up carry 126 pounds; 3-year-olds carry 120 pounds, with allowances as appropriate.

History in brief: The race began in 1998 as the Spinning World Stakes. The first winner was Golden Mirage with jockey Willie Martinez. The second running was split into two divisions; the third running was renamed the Stravinsky Stakes after the horse Stravinsky. In 2006, the race was renamed the Giant's Causeway Stakes, after the famous American-bred, Irish-trained Champion, Giant's Causeway. Steal A Heart set a track record of 1:02.47 for the distance in 2000, and Confessional matched that time in 2001. The 2011 running was moved off the turf. Keeneland did not schedule the race in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The race was upgraded to Grade III in 2024 and to Grade II in 2026.

About Giant's Causeway: the race honors Giant's Causeway, who raced successfully in Britain and Ireland as a 3-year-old in 2000 and later became a leading sire in North America.
