Guamá is a municipality in the Santiago de Cuba Province of Cuba. The municipal seat is the town of Chivirico. It was named after Guamá, a Taíno leader who led a rebellion against the Spanish in the 1530s.

Located in the southwest part of the province, Guamá has a long Caribbean coastline along Cuba’s southern shore, west of Santiago de Cuba. The municipality includes Chivirico and many villages such as Aserradero, Buey Cabón, Caletón Blanco, Cañizo, Uvero, Las Cuevas and several others. The Pico Turquino, the highest peak in Cuba, lies within Guamá.

Guamá covers about 965 square kilometers and had a population of around 34,296 in 2022, giving a population density of roughly 36 people per square kilometer.

A major south coast highway, the Circuito Sur de Oriente (CSO), runs through the area from east to west. The area code is +53-226, and more information can be found at guama.gob.cu.
