Gears Pop! is a mobile real-time strategy game made by Mediatonic and The Coalition, published by Xbox Game Studios. In this two-player game, you use Funko Pop–style characters from the Gears of War universe. It plays like Clash Royale: you drop units on a battleground, use cover points to move forward, and try to destroy the enemy’s two defense turrets and home base before they do the same. The game is free to play and uses microtransactions, and it even supports Xbox achievements.

Gears Pop! was announced at E3 2018 and released on August 22, 2019 for Android, iOS, and Windows, about a month before Gears 5. The servers were shut down on April 26, 2021.

Reception was mixed or average. Pocket Gamer gave it 3/5, calling it a solid mobile strategy game that can be engaging online but isn’t the best in its genre. At launch, more than one million players joined the game.
