Gail Gaymer Martin (August 28, 1937 – September 10, 2023) was an American romance novelist and Christian speaker. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she grew up there and earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Wayne State University. She worked as an English and public speaking teacher, a guidance counselor at Madison High School, and later as an adjunct instructor of English and public speaking at Davenport University.

Martin began writing after creating Christmas programs for her church and submitting them to CSS Publishing in 1994. She sold her first novel to Barbour Publishing, which released it in October 1998. She also helped found the American Christian Fiction Writers association.

She lived in Sedona, Arizona, with her husband, Bob Martin. Outside of writing, she enjoyed music, singing as a soloist and choir member at her church, and was part of the Detroit Lutheran Singers.

Awards include the American Christian Fiction Writers’ Carol Award in 2002 for A Love For Safe Keeping and the Romantic Times Reviewers Choice award in 2012. Gail Martin passed away on September 10, 2023, at the age of 86.
