Gadis River
Gadis River (Batang Gadis, meaning Virgin River) is a river in northern Sumatra, Indonesia. It begins in the Barisan Mountains, in Pakantan, Mandailing Natal Regency, and flows about 137.5 kilometers to the Pacific Ocean at Muara Batang Gadis, in the same regency. The river’s basin covers about 4,840 square kilometers. The area has a tropical rainforest climate with an average temperature around 25°C. The warmest month is March (about 26°C) and the coldest is January (about 23°C). Average annual rainfall is about 3,953 mm, with November as the wettest month (about 588 mm) and June as the driest (about 175 mm).
