Furatena Airport (ICAO: SKFR) is a public airport serving Quípama in Colombia’s Boyacá Department, in the emerald region of western Boyacá. The airport lies about four nautical miles west of Muzo Airport, on the side of a steep mountain slope above the Quebrada Sonadora in the Eastern Ranges of the Colombian Andes. It sits at an elevation of 3,850 feet (1,173 meters) above sea level. The runway is gravel, 870 meters (2,854 feet) long, and oriented 16/34. The airstrip sits on a narrow shelf with dropoffs at both ends and mountains in all directions. The coordinates are 5°31′17″N 74°10′55″W.

The airport is named after Furatena, a Muzo cacica connected to the nearby sacred mountains Fura and Tena, which were important to the Muzo people. Legends say Fura’s tears became emeralds and butterflies, and these mountains were also linked to the Muisca through pilgrimages to the area.
