Diocese of Ciudad Guzmán
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Ciudad Guzmán (Latin: Dioecesis Guzmanopolitana) is a diocese in Mexico. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Guadalajara in the state of Jalisco. The diocesan seat is the Cathedral of San José (St. Joseph) in Ciudad Guzmán. The diocese was established on March 25, 1972.
Geography and people: It covers about 3,213 square miles (8,320 square kilometers). As of 2006, about 442,400 people lived in the diocese, with 416,170 Catholics (94.1%). The diocese has 52 parishes.
Leadership: The current bishop is Herculano Medina Garfias. The metropolitan archbishop is Francisco Robles Ortega. The diocese also has an emeritus bishop, Óscar Armando Campos Contreras.
