Funeral Stomp is a 1990 single by English singer Robert Lloyd from his debut solo album Me and My Mouth. It was written by Lloyd and Mark Tibenham and produced by Andy Richards, running 3 minutes and 49 seconds. The song marked Lloyd’s first release after leaving the Nightingales in 1986 and forming a new backing group; he signed with Virgin Records in 1989 and recorded the album that summer. He had also performed the track on a John Peel session for BBC Radio 1 on 31 January 1989.

Lyrically, Funeral Stomp jokes about the futility of worrying about dying and encourages dancing through life’s troubles. Critics praised its upbeat, danceable electro-pop feel and sharp wit. NME called it a bright, “jolly” take on mortality, while Melody Maker admired its intelligent humor and catchy groove, and Music Week highlighted Lloyd’s strong pop lyricism. The single did not reach the UK Top 100, but it did peak at number 18 on Music Week’s The Other Chart for one week.
