Fromohio (stylized fROMOHIO) is Firehose’s third album, released in 1989. It keeps the acoustic, folky feel of If'n and was recorded in Ed Crawford’s home state of Ohio, from October 17–20, 1988 at Suma in Painesville. The album runs 31:54, was released on SST (235), and was produced by Ed Crawford and Mike Watt. It sits between If'n (1987) and Flyin’ the Flannel (1991) in Firehose’s discography.

Critics praised its mix of the band’s familiar riffing with more straightforward song structures, noted Crawford’s guitar taking a more central role while Watt’s bass and Hurley’s drums stay at the core, and highlighted the band’s blend of punk, funk, and free jazz. Some described it as technically imperfect but masterfully blending free-form fusion, and others called it Firehose’s best, most accessible work, a distinctly American record rich in tradition and innovation.
