Friendly Bacteria is the fifth studio album by British musician and DJ Mr. Scruff. It was released on 19 May 2014 by Ninja Tune and Ninja Tuna, with recordings from 2013–2014. The album runs 54 minutes and blends electronica, trip hop, and nu jazz. Mr. Scruff produced the record himself and described it as having a more stripped-back feel with deeper bass, fewer samples, more vocals, more collaborations, and shorter tracks. Ahead of the release, the track Render Me was streamed on YouTube on 28 February 2014 from Mr. Scruff's official channel. All tracks on Friendly Bacteria were written by Mr. Scruff. The album follows Bonus Bait (2009) in his discography.
