Osmo Buller

Osmo Buller, born in 1950 in Taivalkoski, Finland, is a Finnish esperantist and long-time leader of the Universal Esperanto Association (UEA). He became active in Esperanto after taking part in the 1969 World Congress. He then worked with the Finnish Esperanto Association and joined the UEA Central Office in 1985. He was board secretary to the Estraro (UEA steering committee) in 1989, then became director of the Central Office in 1990. He later became UEA general secretary in 1996. He resigned in 2001 in protest of Renato Corsetti’s election as UEA president but returned in 2004. He was named Esperantist of the Year in 2001.
