Francis Willoughby, 2nd Baron Middleton
Francis Willoughby, 2nd Baron Middleton (4 October 1692 – 31 July 1758) was a British politician. He sat in the House of Commons from 1713 to 1727, and later became the 2nd Baron Middleton in the Peerage of Great Britain after his father’s death.
He was the eldest son of Thomas Willoughby, 1st Baron Middleton, and Elizabeth Rothwell. His brother was Hon. Thomas Willoughby, MP. He was educated at Eton and Jesus College, Cambridge, where he earned a Master of Arts degree in 1712.
Willoughby served as Member of Parliament for Nottinghamshire in 1713 and 1715, and for Tamworth from 1722 to 1727. He inherited the barony in 1729 and owned Wollaton Hall in Nottinghamshire (where he lived) and Middleton Hall in Warwickshire. He was High Steward of the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield from 1729.
He married Mary Edwards in 1723. They had two sons, who later both became barons, and a daughter.
