Farmingdale is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Farmingdale, Kennebec County, Maine. It has about 2,000 residents as of 2020 and covers roughly 2.6 square miles, mostly land.

Location and neighbors: The CDP sits on the eastern side of the Kennebec River. It is bordered by Hallowell to the north and Gardiner to the south, with Chelsea and Randolph across the river to the east. The western edge follows Blaine Road, Bowman Street, and Peacock Road.

Getting around: U.S. Route 201 and Maine State Route 27 pass through the community as Maine Avenue, linking to Hallowell and Augusta about 5 miles away. US 201 heads southwest to Gardiner and Brunswick, while SR 27 crosses the Kennebec to Randolph and toward Wiscasset.

Size and geography: The Farmingdale CDP covers about 2.6 square miles in total, with 2.4 square miles of land and 0.2 square miles of water. Elevation is about 52 feet.
