Ernesto Torrealba Morales (January 13, 1936 – January 1, 1981) was a Chilean economist and socialist politician. He was born in Curicó, Chile. In July 1973, during President Salvador Allende’s government, he briefly served as Minister of Agriculture from July 5 to July 13, 1973, stepping down after about a week. After the 1973 coup, he went into exile in Mexico. There, he worked with regional groups like CEPAL and ILPES and contributed to debates on Latin American development. He died in 1981 in Mexico at the age of 44.
