Epichloë stromatolonga is a haploid fungus in the Epichloë group. It lives inside grasses as a systemic, seed-transmissible symbiont, meaning it can move through the plant and spread via seeds. The species was first described in 2009 and is closely related to Epichloë amarillans, Epichloë baconii, Epichloë festucae, and Epichloë mollis.

Epichloë stromatolonga has been found in Asia, in the grass Calamagrostis epigejos. It is not known to have a sexual life stage. Classification: Kingdom Fungi; Division Ascomycota; Class Sordariomycetes; Order Hypocreales; Family Clavicipitaceae; Genus Epichloë; Species stromatolonga. Binomial name Epichloë stromatolonga. Synonyms: Neotyphodium stromatolongum.
