Elgin Racers
The Elgin Racers were a small professional basketball team in the International Basketball League (IBL). Founded in 2005, they were based in Elgin, Illinois, and played their home games at the Lindner Fitness Center at Judson University and later at the Spartan Events Center in Elgin.
The team began as the Windy City Dawgs in Palatine, Illinois, before moving to Elgin in 2006 and becoming the Elgin Racers. They were owned by Bob Fischer and coached by James Condill in 2005–2006, with Michael Murphy taking over as head coach in 2007. In their first season as the Racers, they finished 16-6, placing third in the East Division. They earned one division title in 2007.
The Racers folded in 2008, and the IBL ceased operations a few years later. Team colors were black, red, and silver.
