You're Going to Lose That Girl is a Beatles song from the 1965 album Help! and the Help! film. It is credited to the Lennon–McCartney partnership, with John Lennon providing most of the writing and Paul McCartney contributing as well (about 60/40 in Lennon's favor, according to McCartney). The song was likely written in January–February 1965 and recorded on February 19, 1965, at EMI Studios in London. George Harrison played guitar, Paul McCartney played piano, and Ringo Starr played bongos. Harrison’s Sonic Blue Fender Stratocaster is used on the track for the first time. The Beatles added overdubs and created both mono and stereo mixes in the weeks that followed.

In the Help! film, the group is shown performing the song in a recording studio, ending with a humorous moment when a floor hole is opened and the drums crash through after a chainsaw gag. The UK release of Help! on 6 August 1965 places the song as track six, between Another Girl and Ticket to Ride. The US soundtrack, released on 13 August 1965 with a different track order, also features the song. Musically, it’s seen as an “advice” song about losing a girl, with backing vocals influenced by Motown, and its unusual chord progressions help it stand out from other songs on the album. Critics often regard it as one of the stronger tracks from the Help! sessions.
