Ebenhaeser
Ebenhaeser is a small settlement in the Western Cape province of South Africa, in the West Coast District and Matzikama Municipality. It began as a mission station of the Rhenish Missionary Society at the mouth of the Olifants River. A German named Wurmb established it in 1831. The name Ebenhaeser is a form of Ebenezer from the Bible and means “stone of help” (1 Samuel 7:12). In 2011, about 1,305 people lived there, mostly Afrikaans-speaking and belonging to the Coloured community.
