East Honolulu is a census-designated place in Honolulu County, Hawaii, located just east of central Honolulu from the Waiʻalae Country Club to Makapuʻu Point. It covers a total area of 34.46 square miles, with 23.00 square miles of land and 11.45 square miles of water.

As of the 2020 census, about 50,922 people lived in East Honolulu, making it the second-most populated CDP in Hawaii after Honolulu. The area has a density of roughly 2,213 people per square mile. The racial makeup is about 25% White, 0.6% African American, 0.1% American Indian, 47.6% Asian, 3.4% Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander, and 22.5% from two or more races; about 5.8% are Hispanic or Latino. About 19.5% of residents are under 18, and 26% are 65 or older. The median household income is around $139,041, and the per capita income is about $61,753, with about 3.3% living in poverty.

Public schools in East Honolulu are operated by the Hawaii Department of Education and include elementary, middle, and high schools. Private schools are also present. The Hawaii State Public Library System serves the area with Aina Haina Public Library and Hawaii Kai Public Library.
