Dubem Nwachukwu
Dubem Nonyelu Nwachukwu (born February 8, 2000) is a Nigerian-American track and field athlete who runs the 400 meters. He was born in the United States and competes for Nigeria internationally. He is from Katy, Texas, and attended St. Thomas High School, then Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi and Arizona State University.
His personal best in the 400m is 44.81 seconds, set in Austin in 2023. He finished fifth in the 400m at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
World Athletics cleared his switch from the United States to Nigeria in 2023. He finished second in the Nigerian trials that year and competed for Nigeria at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest.
In 2024, he was selected for the Nigerian team at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow, reaching the semi-finals of the men's 400m. He ran as part of Nigeria’s 4×400m relay team at the World Relays Championships in Nassau, Bahamas, which qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics. In July 2024, he was named to Nigeria’s squad for the Paris Olympics to compete in the relay.
He has represented Nigeria in the African Games (Accra 2023) in the 4×400m relay and in the African Championships (Douala 2024) in the mixed 4×400m relay.
