Drachen Studio Kecur Royal 912
The Drachen Studio Kecur Royal 912 is a German ultralight trike built by Drachen Studio Kecur in Mettmann. It is sold as a complete, ready-to-fly aircraft and is designed to meet the FAI microlight category, which includes a maximum gross weight of 450 kg (992 lb).
The trike features a cable-braced hang-glider style high wing with weight-shift controls. It has two seats in tandem in an open cockpit, a tricycle landing gear with wheel pants, and a single engine in a pusher arrangement. It is made from bolted aluminum tubing, and the wing is a single-surface design covered in Dacron sailcloth. The wingspan is 10.48 m (34.4 ft) and is supported by a kingpost, with an A-frame control bar for the weight-shift control.
Engine options are Rotax 912 family: 80 hp (60 kW) four-cylinder, air- and liquid-cooled with dual ignition, or 100 hp (75 kW) Rotax 912S. The empty weight is 230 kg, and with a 450 kg gross weight, the useful load is 220 kg. With a full 55 L of fuel, the payload is about 180 kg. The carriage is manufactured under subcontract in Slovenia. A variety of wings can be fitted, but the standard is the EOS 15 wing (15 m²) with spoilers.
