Dr. John Arnold Farm
Dr. John Arnold Farm is a historic home and farm in Union Township, Rush County, Indiana. The farmhouse was built in 1853. It is a two-story Gothic Revival frame house with clapboard siding and a five-gabled roof that forms a double-cross “T” shape. A wraparound front porch was added around 1900, featuring decorative vergeboard.
The property covers about 160 acres and includes the remains of an early settlement from the 1820s, such as the original John Arnold cabin, a tomb, and a cemetery. Other buildings and structures on the site include a smokehouse, milk house, privy, tool shed, buggy shed/garage, chicken house, granary, corn crib/shed, cattle barn, calf shed, and two additional corn cribs.
Dr. John Arnold Farm was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 14, 1989 (reference number 89001409).
