2016 Oregon elections

A general election was held in Oregon on November 8, 2016. Primary elections were held on May 17, 2016. Hillary Clinton won Oregon’s seven electoral votes.

- U.S. House: All five Oregon seats up for re-election. All incumbents won re-election (four Democrats and one Republican).
- U.S. Senate: Incumbent Ron Wyden (D) won re-election to a fourth full term.
- Attorney General: Ellen Rosenblum (D) was re-elected, defeating Daniel Crowe (R) 55.0% to 41.7%.
- Governor: This election determined the remainder of the term of Governor John Kitzhaber. Democrat Kate Brown, who had become governor in 2015 after Kitzhaber’s resignation, won re-election; the next gubernatorial election was in 2018.
- Secretary of State: Incumbent Jeanne Atkins did not seek election; Dennis Richardson (R) defeated Brad Avakian (D) to become Secretary of State—the first Republican to win statewide in Oregon since 2002.
- Treasurer: Ted Wheeler (D) was term-limited and ran for mayor of Portland. Tobias Read (D) was elected to succeed him.
- Legislature: Democrats held a majority in the Senate (18–12 before the election; 16 of 30 seats were up) and in the House (35–25 before the election; all 60 seats were up).
- Ballot measures: Seven statewide measures appeared on the November 2016 ballot.
