Doug Lund (1946–May 21, 2024) was an American news anchor at KELO-TV in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He grew up in Volga, South Dakota, and admired KELO-TV’s on-air personalities. He started at KELO-TV in 1974 as a commercial announcer, joined the Keloland news team in 1975, and co-anchored the 10 p.m. news with Steve Hemmingsen. Beginning in 1977, Lund and Hemmingsen co-anchored the 6 p.m. newscast for 25 years. In 2000 he moved to a senior anchor role, and the newscast’s audience grew 25% the following year. In 2001 he was part of KELO-TV’s team that won an Upper Midwest Emmy Award for Single Newscast. He received the Tom Brokaw Award in 2006 from the South Dakota Broadcasting Hall of Fame. His last newscast was December 29, 2006; KELO-TV later aired a Lund at Large Special to honor his career. He died of bladder cancer on May 21, 2024, at age 78.
