Dorothi Fox
Dorothi Fox is an American actress born on January 8, 1930, in Harlem, New York City. She began in African‑American theatre, working with the Negro Ensemble Company in 1966 as a head usher and later appearing on Broadway in The Last of Mrs. Lincoln. She also performed with the New Federal Theatre and other groups.
In the 1970s she moved to film, appearing in titles such as Bananas (1971) where she played FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover disguised as a Black woman, Come Back, Charleston Blue (1972), Three Days of the Condor (1975), and The Wiz (1978).
Her career continued on television, including the Onion News Network (2011) as Nancy Fichandler. She has also appeared in Random Acts of Flyness and Orange Is the New Black.
In 2019 she returned to the stage with the Negro Ensemble Company in Imminently Yours by Karimah, playing Lillie Mae. Dorothi Fox remains active in acting.
