Dom Zanni was an American baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1958 to 1966. He was born on March 1, 1932 in The Bronx, New York, and he batted and threw right-handed. Zanni played for the San Francisco Giants (1958–1959, 1961), the Chicago White Sox (1962–1963), and the Cincinnati Reds (1963, 1965–1966). He stood 5'11" tall and weighed 180 pounds. Before reaching the majors, he was signed by the Giants and won a no-hitter for the Sioux City Cowboys in 1954. Zanni made his MLB debut on September 28, 1958, earning the win against the St. Louis Cardinals. His best season came in 1962 with the White Sox: 44 games, 86 innings pitched, a 6–5 record, and a 3.75 ERA. He was traded to the Reds in 1963 and finished his major league career in 1966. His final MLB appearance was October 1, 1966. Over his major league career, he compiled a 9–6 win–loss record, a 3.79 ERA, and 148 strikeouts. After baseball, Zanni worked 27 years in the insurance business and later retired to Massapequa, New York. He died on July 6, 2017, in Massapequa at age 85.
