Disa bivalvata is a small, bulb-forming orchid native to South Africa’s fynbos. It grows up to 30 cm tall and has two-coloured flowers. The plant mainly flowers after fires, from September to January. It is endemic to the Eastern Cape and Western Cape, from the Cape Peninsula to Humansdorp. In some areas, invasive plants threaten its survival.
