Original Koffee
Original Koffee, born Mikayla Victoria Simpson on February 16, 2000, in Spanish Town, Jamaica, is a singer, rapper, songwriter and guitarist. She grew up singing in church, learned guitar at 12, and was inspired by reggae artists like Protoje. In 2017 she released early singles, including "Legend" and "Burning," which helped her rise after Usain Bolt shared her music. She signed with Columbia Records UK and released her debut EP, Rapture, in 2019. Rapture won the Grammy for Best Reggae Album, making her the youngest artist and the only woman to win in that category at 19. Her 2022 album Gifted received strong reviews. She has opened for artists such as Harry Styles and worked with Protoje, Chronixx, Cocoa Tea and Gunna on the track "W." In 2025 she began releasing music under the new name Original Koffee, starting with the single "Koffee."
