Diamondhead is a fictional Marvel Comics character. He first appeared in Nova #3 (Nov. 1976) and was created by Marv Wolfman and Sal Buscema.

Origin and powers
Arch Dyker was a troubled South Hampton resident who became a petty thief. After a diamond-powered laser exposure during a gem heist, his body turned into hard diamond. This diamond form gives him super strength and near-total invulnerability. He can regrow destroyed limbs given time, and his boxing background makes him a skilled fighter. His pride and quick temper often hurt him in battles.

Criminal career and alliances
Diamondhead became a criminal and joined the Terrible Trio with the Condor and Powerhouse. He later allied with the Sphinx and Doctor Sun after the Condor was defeated by the Sphinx.

Conflict with Nova and space adventures
Diamondhead and his allies travel with Nova’s group to Xandar. There, he betrays the Nova Corps to the Skrulls, which leads to the death of one of the Champions and leaves Diamondhead adrift in space. He is eventually captured for experiments on the Stranger’s laboratory world and later escapes, returning to Earth.

Stamford incident and further encounters
Following the Stamford tragedy, the New Warriors’ identities become public, and Diamondhead uses this to find Nova’s parents’ house, waiting for Nova to return home. When Nova comes back after the Annihilation War, Diamondhead fights him, but Nova defeats him and takes him back to prison.

Marvel NOW!
During the Marvel NOW! era, Diamondhead ambushes the new Nova but is easily defeated and left stranded in the desert.
