Denis Delestrac
Denis Delestrac (born 14 August 1968) is a French film director and producer known for investigative documentaries about how natural resources affect the environment, society, and politics. His film Sand Wars helped prompt a 2019 United Nations Environment Programme report on sand scarcity. He has won more than 40 international prizes and joined the European Film Academy in 2017. He studied law at Toulouse and earned a Master’s in Journalism from the University of Dallas. He started as a photojournalist and writer in the United States, covering events such as the 1992 Los Angeles riots, the Waco siege, and the 1992 U.S. presidential elections. He began making non-fiction films in 2001. Through his company Intrepido Films, he also creates branded content for brands and events. He lives in Barcelona.
