Daytime Nighttime Suffering is a Wings song written by Paul McCartney. It was released as the B-side to the 1979 single Goodnight Tonight, which reached the top five in both the UK and US. The track was recorded in January 1979 during the Back to the Egg sessions and lasts 3 minutes 19 seconds. It was released on 7" vinyl on March 23, 1979, with production by Paul McCartney and Chris Thomas for Parlophone/EMI.

Over the years, it appeared on several collections: The Paul McCartney Collection (1993) as a CD bonus, on Back to the Egg, and on Wingspan: Hits and History, and it was included in The 7" Singles Box in 2022.

Creation and reception: During the Back to the Egg sessions, Paul suggested that if the band could come up with a strong enough song, it would be used as a B-side. The group spent the weekend working on songs, but Paul finished Daytime Nighttime Suffering by Monday. The track required 49 mixing attempts, and a baby James McCartney can be heard crying about two minutes in.

Paul McCartney has called it one of his favourite songs, a sentiment echoed by Linda McCartney, though Paul has never performed it live.
