David Mitchell (lacrosse)
David Mitchell (born March 12, 1984) is a Canadian lacrosse player from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. He is 6 feet tall, weighs 195 pounds, and plays at the attack position, shooting left. He has played in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) for the Philadelphia Wings and in Major League Lacrosse (MLL) for the Boston Cannons, Chicago Machine, and San Francisco Dragons.
Mitchell attended Cornell University, where he helped the Big Red reach the 2007 NCAA Championship Final Four. As a senior, he earned second-team All-American honors and was named to the first All-Ivy League team.
In the 2007 MLL Draft, he was picked 8th overall by the Boston Cannons. He had a standout rookie game on July 14, 2007, scoring four goals against the Chicago Machine. Before the 2008 season, he was traded to the San Francisco Dragons, and later joined the Chicago Machine in July 2008 after being waived by the Dragons. In the NLL, he was selected in the second round (25th overall) by the Philadelphia Wings in 2007.
