Dave Edge
Dave Edge, born in 1954 in Blackpool, Lancashire, United Kingdom, is a former long-distance runner who represented Canada at two Olympic Games. He worked as a policeman in Blackpool before moving to Canada in 1981 to join the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Edge competed for Canada at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics (DNF in the marathon) and the 1988 Seoul Olympics (finished 67th). He is Jewish and competed in the 1981 Maccabiah Games, winning silver in the 10,000 meters and bronze in the mini-marathon, and he also competed in the 1989 Maccabiah Games. He won a silver medal in the marathon at the 1986 Commonwealth Games. In 1984 he won the Ottawa Race Weekend marathon and was Canada’s national marathon champion. He later lived in Newport Beach, California, and is married to Carey May, a former Irish long-distance runner.
