Dale Copley
Dale Copley (born 29 July 1991) is an Australian former professional rugby league player who mainly played as a centre or winger. He played in the NRL for the Brisbane Broncos (two spells), the Sydney Roosters, and the Gold Coast Titans.
Born in Ingham, Queensland, Copley moved to Brisbane as a boy and went to Wavell State High School. He also played baseball and was considered one of Australia’s top hitting prospects before choosing to focus on rugby league at age 16. He played junior rugby for the Aspley Devils and was signed by the Brisbane Broncos.
Copley made his NRL debut for the Broncos in 2009 and scored his first NRL try in 2010. He had a breakout year in 2014, finishing as the Broncos’ top try-scorer with 16 tries. After an injury-hit 2015 season, he moved to the Sydney Roosters in 2016.
In 2017 he joined the Gold Coast Titans, where he stayed for four seasons and was a regular contributor. In 2021 he briefly returned to the Broncos before rejoining the Roosters in August. He scored a late-season try for the Roosters but broke his foot the following week and announced his retirement at the end of 2021.
Post-sport, Copley works as a lawyer at GRT Lawyers.
