Crosby station (Minnesota)
Crosby station is a historic former train station in Crosby, Minnesota. It opened in 1910 as part of the Minneapolis, St. Paul and Sault Ste. Marie Railway, later known as the Soo Line. The depot connected people and goods and helped export iron ore during the area’s boom. In 1980 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Crosby Railroad Depot. Today the building is the Cuyuna Range Museum, run by the Cuyuna Iron Range Heritage Network. The railroad line was built from Superior, Wisconsin to Thief River Falls between 1908 and 1910, with a Crosby branch to reach the Cuyuna Range mines. The museum tells the story of the Cuyuna Range with artifacts, documents, and photos, including a Milford Mine disaster display, vintage wedding dresses, logging and mining tools, and a replica of the Project Manhigh capsule launched nearby in 1957.
