Croatian Social Democrats
Croatian Social Democrats (HSD) is a small left-wing political party in Croatia. It was founded in 2004 as a breakaway from the bigger Social Democratic Party of Croatia (SDP). The party is based in Zagreb and promotes social democracy and anti-globalization. Website: hsd.com.hr.

History
- As of 2011, HSD had not won seats in general elections. Its only Member of Parliament was Ivica Pančić, who had been elected as an SDP member in 2003 and 2007. He left the SDP in January 2010, sat as an independent for eight months, and joined HSD in September 2010.
- For the 2007 election, HSD formed an alliance with Left of Croatia, the Socialist Labour Party of Croatia, and the Istrian Socialdemocratic Forum; the alliance received 9,884 votes.
- In August 2010 Pančić announced he was taking over the party after leaving SDP and supporting Milan Bandić in the January 2010 presidential elections. With Pančić joining, HSD gained representation in parliament.
