Corynebacterium matruchotii
Corynebacterium matruchotii is a species of bacteria in the Corynebacterium genus. It is a Gram-positive bacillus with long filaments and short, thick ends. In the mouth, this bacterium is known for being at the center of "corn-cob" formations, where Streptococcus sanguinis surrounds it to form a cob-like cluster. C. matruchotii is found in dental plaque as part of the normal mouth bacteria and is not known to cause dental diseases.
