Coorparoo Football Club (1996)
The Coorparoo Football Club, nicknamed the Kings, is an Australian rules football team based in the Brisbane suburb of Coorparoo, Queensland. It was formed in 1996 by Craig Dixon as the Treasury Kings Football Club after the original Coorparoo club folded. In 1999, after moving their home ground, the club was renamed Coorparoo Football Club.
The Kings’ men’s team have competed in the Brisbane Australian Football League (BAFL) and later in the Queensland Football Association (QFA). They have won seven senior premierships in the QFA: 2000, 2001, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2022. The club’s reserves side has also reached grand finals in several years, including 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2016. The women's team currently plays in the QAFL Women’s (QAFLW) competition.
In December 2023, AFL Queensland granted a provisional licence for Coorparoo to enter the Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL) in 2025, with the official licence to compete in the QAFL men’s competition granted on July 31, 2024. The club began QAFL play in 2025. The Kings’ home ground is Giffin Park, and their colors are blue and white. The club’s official website is coorparooafc.com.au.
