Comamonas thiooxydans
Comamonas thiooxydans is a Gram-negative, rod-shaped bacterium in the genus Comamonas. It was isolated from a sulfur spring and can oxidize thiosulfate, using it for energy. It belongs to the family Comamonadaceae, order Burkholderiales, class Betaproteobacteria, phylum Pseudomonadota, in the domain Bacteria. The type strains are DSM 17888, JCM 14801, and S23. A soil bacterium called Comamonas sp. strain E6 (NBRC 107749) has a sequenced genome (GCF_001010305.1) and, based on that genome, the GTDB places E6 in Comamonas thiooxydans, suggesting it is the same species.
