Coleraine is one of seven district electoral areas in Causeway Coast and Glens, Northern Ireland. It elects six councillors to Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council and includes the wards of Churchland, Mountsandel, Quarry, University, Waterside, and Windy Hall. For national elections, Coleraine is part of the East Londonderry constituencies for both the Northern Ireland Assembly and the UK Parliament. The DEA was created in 2014, largely replacing the Coleraine Central and Coleraine East DEAs that had existed since 1993.
