- At peak times you can expect a train every about 6 minutes in total (two lines combined).
- Outside peak times and on weekends/public holidays, trains run roughly every 15 minutes (about every 7.5 minutes for the two lines together). Late at night, service is less frequent.
- The station has two platforms (one island platform) and is within fare Zone 1.

Who owns and runs it
- Owned by the Public Transport Authority (PTA) and operated by Transperth Train Operations.

History in brief
- Opened in 1881 as Butlers Swamp; renamed Claremont in 1883.
- In 1886 a new station was built about 300 metres to the east. Those 1886 buildings are the oldest surviving in Perth.
- The station originally had a crossing loop.
- In 1905 a third platform was added to serve the Royal Perth Show; Showgrounds station opened nearby in 1954.
- The Fremantle line closed in 1979 and reopened in 1983; the station building was restored then.
- Electrification in 1991 reduced the site to one island platform, with the old platform abandoned.
- In 2010 the Town of Claremont moved its administration into the station master’s building, and the old goods shed became a cultural centre and café.

Redevelopment and METRONET works
- The Airport line’s terminus was moved to Claremont, prompting upgrades to meet modern accessibility standards and the construction of two turnback sidings west of the station.
- In 2020, the John Holland Group won the contract to carry out the works.
- The Fremantle line and Claremont station were closed from February 5 to April 5, 2021, to complete the upgrades. The line reopened on April 6, but Claremont station needed extra restoration work and reopened on June 1, 2021.
- From 2034, the plan is to extend the platforms at Claremont to the east to allow six-car trains.

Where it is and how to get there
- Claremont station is between Shenton Road and Gugeri Street in Claremont.
- Access is via two street crossings at the ends of the station and the original pedestrian bridge. There is also a pedestrian underpass connecting the two streets west of the station.

Passengers
- In the 2013–14 year, the station served about 579,729 passengers.
